Leon Trotsky, an exiled revolutionary, lecturing Danish students on the history of the Russian Revolution; Copenhagen, Denmark - 27 November 1932
Photographs by Robert Capa
Capa was sent to Denmark by Dephot, a photo agency at the time, to document the speech. The photographer had to smuggle in his 35-mm Leica into the stadium in order to take these photos. The photographs taken were loved so much because they captured the revolutionary’s passion so well that they were published in Der Welt Spiegel. Robert Capa’s coverage of Trotsky’s lecture was his first published story.
