A US military recovery crew on inspects an Imperial Japanese Navy Zero aircraft on Akutan Island, Alaska. The plane crashed on 3 June 1942 after bombing Dutch Harbor. The pilot was killed in the crash, but the soft marshy surface prevented serious damage to the aircraft, which was later used for intelligence purposes - 11 July 1942
